Planting soil is usually loam soil, has the necessary acidity, you can use litmus paper to test, pH is in the range of 4-5, if the pH is higher, you should add minerals such as sulfate, iron crystals to increase acidity.

The best soil suitable for camellia plants should be fish pond mud, leaf litter, vegetable garden soil and a little horse manure and manure. After a few years of this type of soil, the loose lumps of soil in the pot will not dissolve, have high moisture but high drainage, because if the soil is solid, it will be difficult for the plant to grow, if it is waterlogged it will easily rot and the plant will die quickly.

Environment

Camellia plants cannot tolerate radiant sunlight, so we should keep the plant in a shady place or use a thin net or plastic to create shade. In the summer, avoid placing it near large trees or next to walls because the high heat from the hot sun all day will affect the health of the whole tree.

Irrigation water should be pond water or rain water. If using tap water, leave it in a water tank for a few days to remove the javel, bringing the water temperature close to the soil temperature.

• How to fertilize

With tea plants, we also need to fertilize moderately and in the right dosage so as not to affect the growth of the plant and the root system.

Camellia plants also need fertilizer, although the plant’s biological characteristics do not require much fertilizer. When fertilizing, it is recommended to use organic fertilizer, sprinkle fertilizer around the roots 2-3 cm away from the base of the tree. The tree is cool-loving, so before the hot season, you should apply cool fertilizer, possibly diluted alum fertilizer, so it will not directly affect the tree.
