Bouvardia flower: care at home
Each plant requires care, but against the background of other plants, the bouvardia flower is not pretentious.
• Temperature
Room temperature (20-25 degrees) is suitable for bouvardia, so it will feel good indoors. However, in winter, it will be better if the temperature drops to 12-15 degrees. If the owner lives in a private house, then in the summer the plant can be safely taken out onto the street or porch.
• Humidity
You do not need to spray flowers, sometimes you can wash flowers from dust. This procedure is not considered routine and is performed when necessary or at the request of the owner.
• Land
You can buy soil – suitable stores for growing decorative flower plants. Another option is that you can mix it yourself, taking leafy, loose soil and sand in a ratio of 2: 2: 1. Important! Planting capacity needs to be small and shallow. In large pots, plants are lost.
• Sprinklers
Water sparingly, otherwise the plant will begin to rot. You can understand that it’s time by looking at how dry or wet the top layer is. In the cold season, reduce watering one and a half to two times.
• Lighting
A lot of light is needed for bouvardia. The flower will not grow without it, so a north-facing window will be a poor choice
Transplanting plants
Although the plant is considered a perennial, it is replanted on average every 2-3 years. Transplantation is carried out in spring. The cuttings are planted in clean soil and then cared for as usual. For reference: An old tree can be planted somewhere on the street (it is not a fact that it will take root) or simply thrown away. In winter, bouvardia can spread out. It will need to be cut, and not saved. Otherwise, in the spring it may not bloom. Pins are also beneficial.
Reproduction
You can propagate bouvardia by dividing the bush or cuttings. The first method is not a problem, because it is extremely difficult for the average person. At home, they give second priority. Cuttings root easily in both soil and water. The temperature must be room temperature. Adding liquid fertilizer is beneficial. Aphids and spider mites can harm plants. However, this is very rare. Pest control involves the use of specialized store-bought chemicals.
Bouvardia is a flower that you want to grow for its simplicity, beauty and fragrance. It does not require serious maintenance and therefore attracts the attention of novice flower lovers. It is also important that the plant is available for purchase, as florists often use it to make bouquets.
